Printmaking is the act of making art through reproductive processes, for example: woodcut, screenprint, etching, etc. These processes make it so you can make multiple copies of your artwork, they also give the artwork very specific beautiful qualities. A handmade and hand printed artwork looks very different from an image on a screen or from an image printed from a digital cmyk printer.
To me printmaking is like an ancient magic science. Learning how to do different processes and be meticulous has been vital in shaping the artist that I am today. Free Lobotomy would not exist if I hadn't spent countless hours toiling in the print studio in school.
